Testing approach
Our testing approach page documents how we plan automated software testing engagements before code lands in your main branch.
Discovery and inventory
We begin by mapping services, queues, and user journeys that must stay reliable. Existing scripts — regardless of framework — are executed in a clean environment to separate environmental failures from product defects. This step prevents automating the wrong behaviour.
Layered automation strategy
We prefer a thin pyramid: fast unit checks near code, contract tests at service boundaries, and a curated UI suite for revenue-critical paths. Load and chaos work are scoped only when your risk register demands them. Each layer gets explicit owners inside your team.
CI and developer ergonomics
Pipelines should fail with actionable logs. We configure artifacts (screenshots, traces, HAR files) and document how developers rerun a single case locally with the same secrets policy as CI. Bellville-based teams may workshop this in person; remote teams receive recorded walkthroughs.
Maintenance contract (advisory)
Automation rots when features move. We recommend quarterly advisory touchpoints to retire obsolete cases and add coverage for new modules — scheduled as separate engagements with fees agreed in advance.
